MLB The Show is a major league baseball video game series produced by SCE san diego studio a development team. The series debuted in 2006 with MLB 06 The Show for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. There has been a new release in the series every year since 2006, and since MLB 07 The Show in 2007, every game released has also been available for the PlayStation 3. MLB 12 The Show, which was released in March 2012, is also the first game in the series to not be available for the PS2 or PSP and the first game in the series to available for the PlayStation Vita, Sony's new handheld. In the game their are multiple game modes such as the show mode.The Show features a career mode which is one of the game's unique features. This is known as "The Show" mode, giving the game its name. In this mode, the user creates player and attempts to take him to Major League stardom. Another mode is known as season mode. In season mode users can carry one team through an entire 162-game season and into the playoffs if you make it there. Users can pick from the thirty current Major League Baseball teams and have the options to change team rosters, review scouting reports for opposing teams, and view statistics and standings. In this setting, all players on a team are user-controlled during gameplay, unlike "The Show" mode. The gameplay is showed in diffrent perspectives in the position of the player like a pitcher would be the perspective of a pitcher.
